The idea.
The result.
What I Used:
Red: Orly Sweet Tart
Gold Glitter: Color Club Gingerbread
How I Did It:
Yes, that's really it. Done in two steps! If you're looking to jazz up an old manicure or if you're new to the nail art scene and want to try something simple, this is a great way to do it. You can use practically any polish you already have in your collection and the color combinations are limited only by your imagination. You don't even need a glitter polish as you can use regular glitter that you can get from scrapbooking supply stores (the finer glitter are the best to use). Just be careful when applying it over wet polish so that you can concentrate it on the areas you want and not get it all over the nail.
Easy nail art!
I think the jelly base makes this look more interesting than if I used a creme.
Eek, my hand looks so dry and wrinkly here..! *sad face*
With a plushie Santa! (Yes, I had to post-process the photo because the original was too dark.)
How do you like your nail art: easy and cute or hard and intricate? If you do nail art, do you prefer freehand or stamping/stickers/decals? Do you "recycle" old manicures?

This is so cute Carmela!!! I like to add a little sparkle too. Especially if I get bored with a color. Great way of doing it ;0)
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely! I generally see glitter at the top of the nail, this base-placement is stunning!
ReplyDeleteAnd I've said this before (but will repeat myself) I love your little demo step by step tutorial :D
Hope you had a fantastic Christmas !!!! (I'm leaving comments here and there... I'm a little behind... lol)
I'm so glad you like it, Marisa! :) I love how glitter is versatile like that as I do get bored fast. It's not even funny. I usually change colors at least 2x a week. I've been limiting it to once a week so I can give my nails a rest in between. How often do you change your color?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Marta! It came out pretty well, even I was surprised. I'm thinking of playing around more with this glitter base placement. If only glitter wasn't such a pain to remove, I'd probably wear it more often!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's a great option to have since I almost always forget to take photos while I'm in the process of doing the nail art. ;)
I did; I hope yours was just as awesome!!! Hahaha, I hear you. I'm exactly the same, lol.
