The Fun Facts
Love that pretty teal!
Standard Color Club brush.
New Bohemian VS For Audrey
***All nail swatches were done with Orly Bonder Base Coat and three coats of Color Club New Bohemian unless stated.
Look at how shiny that is.
Gorgeous.
The brush works well with the formula. I was initially concerned that even after 2 coats, it still looked streaky but it did build up wonderfully and leveled itself on the third coat. Consistency was a little on the thicker side, but not too thick that it was troublesome to work with. Because of the 3 coats, dry time did take a bit longer than usual.
Hammie says: Are you sure you put top coat?
Hammie says: I think you forgot to put top coat. It looks no different!
This one was so shiny by itself that it didn't really need top coat. Despite what Hammie says, those top coat photos do have top coat. Pinky swear. Also, if you've noticed, I'm missing sunlight photos. You see, Mr. Sun went on vacation for the whole of this week so I haven't had the chance to take any photos under sunlight. A Hammie promise: We will update with sunlight photos once Mr. Sun comes back!
The Lowdown
We've already seen how New Bohemian stands against it's formidable cousin, China Glaze For Audrey. The other cousin that I might want to compare it with would be Fingerpaints' Tiffany Imposter. I don't have it though, but in photos I've seen, New Bohemian should still look more green in comparison. That's because Tiffany Imposter shares the same base color as For Audrey although it is a few shades lighter. As for availability, New Bohemian shouldn't be too hard to find. In fact, if you're lucky, you can spot the set for a great price of $12.99 (that's $1.86 for each bottle, including a base coat!) at your local Winners and score 5 other pretty colors to add to your collection.
If you've visited Polished Indulgence in the past, you'll know I do separate posts for nail art. But since the amazing lovelies I'm doing this post with as part of a triplet set are known for their awesome nail art skills, I had to step up to the plate and deliver. Here's my (humble and newbie) attempt at nail art stamping using Color Club Lumin-icent, a pale ice blue foil, and the curlicue pattern from BundleMonster plate 201:
The blue is so pale it looks almost silver over New Bohemian.
Of course I had to pose with the Tiffany box!
Bonus photo: Comparing For Audrey on the thumb and New Bohemian on the rest.
Hammie is just as thrilled as I am to have been part of our first triplet post! The pretty turquoise color, the shiny finish even without top coat, the similarity to one of our all-time favorite blues.. this one is a no-brainer. Hammie's score?
10 Hammie Points!
We hope you enjoyed reading this (never mind that it's loooong compared to the other ladies' posts :P Go visit them if you haven't yet! Yes, you're missing a lot if you don't head over to Marta's or Carolina's.) as much as we had fun putting it together. So tell us, would you still be interested to get New Bohemian even knowing that it's a similar color to China Glaze For Audrey? Does the color give off a '70s vibe? What is one of the best deals you've scored at Winners?
