Unboxing Julep Maven American Beauty June 2012

So here I was all ready to post my unboxing for the July Maven box that I just got the other day, when I realized I hadn't even posted June's! Well, my oversight is your gain; you'll get two unboxing posts in one day! Hooray! Without further ado, let's see what the June American Beauty box had in store for us:

Any guesses?

 Open sesame!

I was kicking myself for not going for one of the other boxes that had some pretty blues and teals but this fuchsia makes everything okay. Look how bright it is!

I really appreciate these nail art ideas that Julep now includes in the package.

As well as uplifting "go girl" quotes like this.
It's small details like these that make the Julep box worth every single penny.

Not to mention top notch customer service! A++!

I spy pixi stix! Oh my gosh, I haven't had these since I was a kid. Such a fun treat!

Season appropriate, yes? Love using this for my hands.
The lip balm is a bonus product in this month's box.

The actual tube of sunscreen out of the box.

I absolutely love that it's mostly organic ingredients and it's such a short list at that.
The only chemical is the sunscreen ingredient.

I know it's terribly unfocused but it was the best photo of the bunch.
I'll probably update this photo with a better one down the road.
The fuchsia creme is Lily and the pale pistachio green (also a creme) is Courtney.

I was quite pleased with all the items that I got in the June box. Everything was seasonally appropriate and something I would definitely have gone out and bought for myself to use anyway. The nail polishes were fun, bright colors that looked great together. I enjoyed the nail art idea they included (even though I might not try it, but never say never, right?) as well as the thoughtful extra brushes. I guess there was such an uproar regarding the not so perfect brushes from the May polishes that they decided to include them in the June box, regardless of whether the subscriber complained or not. That's a great way to extend the proverbial olive branch that I feel a lot of people will appreciate. It speaks of a company that genuinely cares about its clientele. I've also had previous fantastic experience with their customer service (where I was given a replacement bottle, no questions asked, when I reported that one of the polishes I received had leaked in transit) that only serves to endear this company to me despite the somewhat overpriced nail polishes.

Are you particular about applying sunscreen on your hands? It's a great practice to make a habit as hands tend to age faster with regular sun exposure. No matter how wrinkle-free your face may be, a wrinkly hand is bound to betray your real age! Do you prefer organic products when given a choice? Would you try the dotted french tip nail art?
