I chose the eco-friendly option which gave me this bare tube (and the option to decorate it myself if I wanted to!).
I wonder what goodies await underneath the purple tissue?
Ooooh.
Right out of the box!
Oh my, yay!
I've been wanting to try this but kept getting put off by the price so I'm really glad to get it!
How-to and ingredient list.
A 1.5mL version of the Stila click pen lipglosses; not bad at all!
Raspberry sounds good.
Skincare from Spain.
Two vials of the serum (in the boxes) and an eye cream.
Box information.
I was ready to give this a go when I read...'snail secretion'! Guess my mom's getting these, after all.
Always good to have a clear expiry date for skincare products.
What the glass vial inside looks like out of the box.
Info at the back of the eye cream tube.
What's this? An 'eye shadow palette'..?
Back of the 'palette'.
The inside of the 'palette'.
Inset of the look details. I like that they included this.
A closer look at the eyeshadow.
These will probably be good for a couple uses at most, but I still think it's a decent sample to try out all the shades before plunking down the $$$ for the actual palette.
Information card for all the samples.
This month's loot!
What can I say? I'm still pretty pleased with the samples I got this month. I've had MaskerAide sheet masks on my wishlist since I read about them after I tried a couple Korean brand ones that just felt amazing on. The $4.99 price tag per mask is a bit steep for me though, especially when I can get a two-pack of an Asian brand for just a dollar more. But we'll see just how good these are! Now, I'm not a big lip gloss fan as I like my tinted lip balms too much, but it's always nice to try something different, right? The eyeshadow 'palette' seems like a really cool concept for me. It's rare that you get to try eyeshadow (actually using it on your eyes, not just swatching it on the back of your hand) so I definitely appreciate this card palette idea. As for the Spanish skincare, the idea of putting anything on my face that has to do with snails has me recoiling in horror, so these I'll happily pass on to my mom.
Considering value for price, the sheet mask alone is valued at $4.99. The Stila lip glaze should cost about $4 as you can purchase a trio set like this of the same size for $12. The serums can be purchased in a set of seven for $59 so each box costs roughly $8.43, while the 3mL eye cream sample would cost about $14.50 (compared to the full sized 15mL going for $72.50). Even without considering the eyeshadow 'palette', the total price for all the other samples already come out to $40.35! More than covering the box cost of $11.30! Pretty good deal, eh? Suffice to say, I'm happy with my October Topbox.
Happy weekend! Mine promises to be one filled with errands but I'm hoping to spend time with the Cutie Pie. How's yours looking? If you're also subscribed to Topbox, how'd you like your samples this month? Among the samples I got for October, which one would you use first?
