(Finally) Unboxing Topbox September 2012

I've been on the waiting list for the Topbox sample subscription service for several months now when I finally get the email that says I'm getting my first box! The subscription service is much like how Loose Button originally started: $10CAD ($11.30CAD with taxes) gets you a monthly box of four samples from various beauty brands tailor fit to your beauty profile. Except, instead of a box, you get a tube container in your mailbox. Everything else is pretty similar. As far as I know, Topbox is one of the cheaper subscription services out there. That in itself might make it appeal to a wider audience. Now, I've read mixed reviews of the service but I'd like to reserve judgement until I've actually enjoyed the monthly boxes--er, tubes. Anyway, I didn't realize I hadn't posted my first Topbox yet, so here's the September one for your perusal. (The post with the October one should go live after this.)

Oooh, exciting!

How pretty! I can definitely see myself reusing this for gifts or storage in general.

The white end with the lip is the part that opens.

Suspense, much?

What do we have here?

M. Asam Vino Gold Perfect Teint instant wrinkle and line filler aka primer.

Creamy consistency, decent product sample size.

Ingredient list. How interesting that it's made in Germany!

Vasanti anything is always good, for me at least!

I'm guessing this is a facial scrub of sorts..?

Again, pretty good sample size.

Creamy consistency, too. (This was sealed but I took off the foil to show the product.)

You have no idea how excited I am to get this sample.

With stats like that on the box, it's hard not to have ridiculously high expectations!

How-to and ingredient list.

I've gotten so much of these that I'm thinking of putting them all in one bottle!

Thank goodness for pamphlets like this!
I honestly had no idea what the M. Asam one was when I first took it out of the box.

The whole lot of it!

I'm very satisfied with my September Topbox and my first foray with this sample subscription service. It's a good selection of products, both from brands that I trust (and would gladly try more products of) and from foreign, new-to-me brands. None of the samples will be going to waste as these are products that I would want to try/use, anyway. The one I'm most excited about is the Benefit They're Real! mascara as I've heard so much good reviews of it. As far as value for price goes, just the mascara alone is enough to pay for the entire box! This sample is actually the mini version of They're Real! mascara that you can purchase from Sephora at $12CAD. That covers the $11.30 (taxes in) that I paid for my box and change. Everything else is pretty much a bonus. Not a bad deal at all, if I say so myself. Was the wait worth it? So far, so good!

Have you jumped on the sample subscription bandwagon? Which is your favorite service provider? What's the best product you received via these sample subscriptions?
